PHILANTHROPY.

The women of Delta Zeta are blessed with the opportunity to better the lives of those, especially children, who are faced with poor hearing, health, and educational resources.  Last year, each DZ in Theta Eta contributed over 121 hours of community service.  Here are a few of the many organizations we work with.

STARKEY HEARING FOUNDATION

The Starkey Hearing Foundation works to bring the gift of improved hearing to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it.  The foundation travels the US and the world providing hearing devices free of charge.  This organization is also on the front lines of the movement to increase awareness about teen hearing loss.

GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY

Gallaudet University, located in Washington, D.C., is the only university in the US that is tailored specifically to the needs of students with hearing impairments.  Besides providing an institute of high education, Gallaudet also acts as a community resourse and research leader in the field of hearing impairment.

TURTLE TUG

The Theta Eta chapter's annual philanthropy is a tug-of-war over pools of green jello.  We enjoy seeing all the teams battle it out on the KFC lawn in support of our charities.  Look for sign-up every September!

COMPLETELY KIDS

This Omaha program aims to develop youth, their families, and their communities.  Completely KIDS focuses their attention on the time children spend unsupervised before and after school, trying to improve relationships, academics, and nutrition.  Click here to see DZ's work this past year!

WANT DELTA ZETA'S HELP?

The sisters of DZ are always looking to assist other organizations in our community.  Conact our VP of Philanthropy, Maria Watson, with any questions.

PAINTED TURTLE CAMP

The Painted Turtle Camp allows children with serious medical conditions to enjoy the fun of summer camp, while still having access to the medical support they need.  Campers and their families attend free of charge.

OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK

Out of the Darkness is a walk sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in order to raise awareness and funds to combat suicide.  Every year, the sisters of the Theta Eta chapter participate in this walk, showing support for those who may have experienced the tragedy themselves.
